June: Wishlist

This month's wishlist includes a mixture of fun things. I'm most excited about finally getting a bike so I can peddle around our neighborhood like a 7 year old.

I've been looking at purchasing this print for our living room for a little while, and found out about Bryan Nash Gill while I was reading the description on the listing. This book would make a great coffee table reading addition. I'm a total sucker for fun coffee table books.

At some point in the future I'm going to try and decorate my kitchen, and when I do, I want to have all my kitchen towels look the same. This bulk pack will be perfect, and they come in several colors!

I don't really need another cutting board, so I won't purchase this in the near future, but this is a wishlist right? A girl can dream, can't she?

A BIKE! I'M SO EXCITED FOR A BIKE! Beard bought one at the end of last year and I've still been looking for one I really love. Can't wait till I find "the one."

What are some things you've had your eye on?

My Punk Scene Kid Heart (Summer Concert Line Up + How I Fell Back In Love With Black Nail Polish)

I've always loved punk, screamo and metal music - but packed up my band t-shirts and black nails for a time when I thought I was too old, too married and too domestic to still rock out.

I'm not hiding it any longer! My punk/hardcore soul has been re-awakened - mostly because right now is an excellent time to be alive if you loves these genres of music.

Recently, Beard and I went to see Bullet For My Valentine in concert and Asking Alexandria opened up for them. That show kicked off our summer concerts so I thought I would share our line up (so far).

(BFMV at The Intersection in G-rap)

Bullet For My Valentine
    The Tenderloins
      Goo Goo Dolls
        3 Doors Down
        Blink 182
I'm really excited for all of these concerts but I almost cried when we got tickets to see Blink 182. They've always been on my list of bands to see live and I thought I wouldn't be able to when they're Detroit concert sold out. BUT THEN THEY DECIDED TO COME TO GRAND RAPIDS! YAYYYY!

What shows are you seeing this Summer?

We Finally Saw Bullet For My Valentine

I have a story about BFMV... It all started in 2013. Beard and I were planning out wedding and the date was rushing up on us. We had our honeymoon planned and everything was falling into place. Then BFMV announced that they were coming to Grand Rapids for a concert. Beard was pumped because he loves them and got a couple people together to go to the show.

...but he didn't realize we would be on our honeymoon.

Sadness ensued. His friends went and had a blast. We went on our honeymoon and had a blast.

But it's always been a bummer AND it gets brought up pretty often.

Fast forward to 2016: BFMV announced another show in Grand Rapids. I knew I had to grab tickets to surprise Beard! The tickets have been stuck on our "ticket board" for a couple months and we finally got to take them down and go see them live.

Here's a quick photo Beard snapped at the show. They were fantastic!

Now Beard can finally check them off his list and we have another show we can add to our scrapbook.

The First Bike Ride Of The Season

This past weekend Beard and I rode the bike out to Newaygo to visit Newaygo Brewing Co. We've driven through Newaygo before, but never had the chance to stop and visit.

Of course, when I saw that they had a Bloody Mary Beer I knew that's what I had to have. It was absolutely delicious.

I also happened to love this decal they had on their wall. Now I want something like that for my house...

Next stop was the River Stop Cafe. It's across the street and down a few store fronts from the brewery.

I got a BLT that was out of this world and Beard got something with Turkey. We'll be back next time we're in town!

After we finished eating we decided to head back. On our way home we stopped at Ridge Cider Co. We hadn't heard of it before, but we drove by it on our way up and wanted to check it out! It didn't disappoint. We did a flight of their ciders and they were delicious!

We ended up taking home a growler of Porch Sittin'.

They also had a place where bands set up and play - which was awesome! When we're in the area again we'll be back for sure.
