This is part two in a three part series of Beard and I's trip to Traverse City over my birthday weekend. You can read the other two installments here: one & three
One of the biggest things Beard and I wanted to do then we came up to Traverse City is drive over to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park. Beard had never been there and it's been years since I've been there. Just driving through is gorgeous enough, but when you get to a place where you can look out it's breath taking!
We pulled off the main road and walked to the look out areas. Unfortunately, there was a brush fire and that whole area of the park was shut down shortly after we arrived.
The last place we stopped was the most fun - I love the panoramic photo the Google Photos put together from all my shots. Isn't is just lovely?
It was hard to capture with a camera - but this dune just drops off into the lake. People were taking their sweet time climbing back up!
On our way home we stopped at a fun place called Boone Docks and got some great food and drinks!
I'm really glad we got to go out here for the afternoon. This park is one of the bigger natural attractions in Michigan, so it was nice that we can check that off our list!
