Our Wedding Reception Decor

Drinking: Tea
Listening: Switchfoot

I know I didn't post a lot about the wedding while we were planning... I'm so sorry! Everything went by so fast, I couldn't even imagine documenting anything. I did take a lot of pictures during "craft nights", but I couldn't have imagined that our reception would turn out as lovely as it did.

Our budget was 5000, but we fell just around 4000 when all was said and done. We decided from the beginning that we would rather pour money into our honeymoon that into one day. I know, that's not the usual way, but that's what really meant a lot to us. And honestly, I think our wedding was beautiful. It was so simple and chic - which was exactly what we wanted (well, I don't think Jordan cared, but it's what I wanted.)

Our head table was as simple as could be. Jordan helped me with the banner and the confetti bunting right under it is just round labels stuck back to back on bakers twine. I painted some gold and left some white and I love how it looked!

These were hung right over the guestbook table. Added some cute dimension and it was super easy.

Our table settings were the cheapest thing we did. My mum had a massive set of white china that we used. We placed a bowl upside down, a dinner plate on top and then a little plate upside down on the dinner plate. The flowers were mason jars full of babies breath and eucalyptus wrapped in twine. I had 3 lovely ladies offer to help make cupcakes, so we had cupcakes coming out of ears! We iced them the day before the wedding and put lemon drops, raspberries and  blueberries on top.

We had a salad bar instead of a huge meal. I know, we're cheap, but it went over so well!

Our guest book was drawn by our friend Liz. I think it makes it even more special that she was able to draw this and we'll always have it displayed in our house somewhere.

Well, that's it folks. Our reception was simple and filled with joy. I couldn't have asked for anything else!

Shalom,

M
